The Easter Celebration of the Segovia Bar Association<\/h2>\n
The Easter Feast is the most solemn event on the Segovian Bar Association's calendar. This year it was celebrated on Friday, April 10th. Church of Saint Justus<\/strong>, with a mass in memory of deceased colleagues and an academic ceremony in which two main moments took place: the swearing-in of the new members and the awarding of badges to those celebrating 25 and 40 years of membership.<\/p>\n The event brought together prominent figures from Segovia's legal community, including Fernando Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, president of the Council of Lawyers of Castilla y Le\u00f3n; Jesus Martinez Puras<\/strong>, president of the Provincial Court of Segovia; and the Dean of the College, Emilio Fuentetaja<\/strong>. The meeting also included a moving tribute to Juan Antonio Gonzalo<\/strong>. The Segovia Bar Association currently has 233 members.<\/p>\n Among those who received the badge for their 40 years of membership<\/strong> our lawyer was there Alicia Garzon Merino<\/strong>. For the firm, for her, and for all those who have trusted in her work over these four decades, this recognition fills us with pride.<\/p>\n Four decades in law are more than just a number on a diploma. They represent hundreds of families supported through their most difficult times: divorces, complicated inheritances, unfair dismissals, and seemingly intractable conflicts. These are people who came to the firm unsure of what to do and left with a clear path forward. They represent successful cases and also instances where the best course of action was to prevent conflict before it reached the courts.<\/p>\n Alicia began her career in a profession very different from today's: without digital files, without online filings, without cloud-based databases. She has witnessed the transformation of the Spanish justice system from within and has kept pace with each change without losing sight of what matters most: close client relationships, clear explanations, and a commitment to the outcome.<\/p>\n Since December 2006 it has been part of the Governing Board of the Illustrious Bar Association of Segovia<\/strong>, contributing to the development of the profession beyond his own office. This recognition only confirms what his clients have known for a long time. The firm was founded in 1979 by Dionisio Saez Chill\u00f3n<\/strong>, a figure so important to the Segovian legal profession that the College itself established in his honor the International Legal Award \u00abDionisio S\u00e1ez Memorial Chill\u00f3n\u00bb<\/strong>, organized in conjunction with the Inter-American Bar Association. Today, almost five decades later, we are still in the same place with the same spirit: professionalism, approachability, and real solutions for real people.<\/p>\n The team consists of Alicia Garz\u00f3n Merino as lead lawyer, C\u00e9sar G\u00f3mez Garz\u00f3n<\/strong> as a lawyer with a young and up-to-date vision of the profession, and Nuria de Andr\u00e9s Agejas<\/strong>, a law graduate and head of administration, who ensures that every file and every deadline is controlled at all times.<\/p>\n Over the years, the firm has handled a wide variety of cases. These are the areas in which we work, which encompass the majority of the legal needs of the citizens of Segovia and its province:<\/p>\n Divisions of inheritances among heirs, conflicts between siblings, acceptance or renunciation of inheritances with debts, contesting wills. One of the most frequent and most delicate matters, because it mixes legal and family issues.<\/p>\n By mutual agreement or through litigation, with or without children. Drafting the separation agreement, custody arrangements, alimony, use of the family home. In one of life's most difficult moments, legal clarity makes all the difference.<\/p>\n Joint or sole custody, modification of measures when circumstances change, visitation rights, child support. The child's best interests always come first.<\/p>\n Landlords with non-paying tenants, problematic rental agreements, eviction proceedings for non-payment or lease expiration. We also advise tenants who need to know their rights.<\/p>\n Unfair dismissals, incorrect severance payments, workplace harassment, work accidents, wage claims. In labor law, there are very short deadlines for action: if you've been dismissed, don't wait.<\/p>\n Claims for compensation, injuries, property damage, negotiation with insurance companies and litigation when the response is not fair.<\/p>\n Review of contracts, earnest money contracts, detection of hidden charges or debts, abusive mortgage clauses, conflicts between owners.<\/p>\n Excessive assessments, noise, challenges to community agreements, horizontal property disputes. Everyday problems with real legal consequences.<\/p>\n Fines, administrative sanctions, appeals to public bodies. The administration can also make mistakes, and you have the right to defend yourself.<\/p>\n Defense and prosecution in criminal proceedings, assistance to detainees, crimes against property, against persons, and against road safety. In criminal matters, the initial consultation is crucial.<\/p>\n The award Alicia Garz\u00f3n received on April 10th at the Segovia Bar Association's Easter Celebration is not just an institutional recognition.
